Direct REI is a web app, and modern phones can install web apps like any other app: it gets its own home-screen icon, opens full-screen without browser bars, shows an unread badge, and can send push notifications. There is nothing to download from an app store, it updates itself, and it is the same account you use on your desktop.
iPhone & iPad
- Open directrei.com/app in Safari (other iPhone browsers can't install apps).
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Direct REI now sits on your home screen with the green D icon. Open it from there from now on.
Android
Open directrei.com/app in Chrome. The app offers an Install card on the Home page — tap it and confirm. If the card isn't there, open Chrome's ⋮ menu and choose Install app (older versions say Add to Home screen). Long-press the installed icon for shortcuts straight into the Inbox, the Dialer, or Oliver.
Desktop
In Chrome or Edge, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (or the browser menu → Install Direct REI) and the app opens in its own window. On a Mac, Safari can do the same with File → Add to Dock.
You can always find these steps inside the app: the Install Direct REI on your phone card on the Home page, Settings → Help → Use Direct REI as an app, or type install into the Cmd+K (Ctrl+K) search.
What's different once it's installed
- Sign in once. The installed app keeps its own sign-in, separate from the browser on the same phone. Sign in the first time you open it and it stays signed in. Per-device preferences (theme, remembered tabs, the dialer's toggles) start fresh in the app, too.
- Email links open in the browser. Confirmation, password-reset and team-invite links open in your phone's browser, not in the app. Finish the step there, then come back to the app — your plan, team, and invite acceptance are all on your account, not on the device.
- Notifications. The installed app can notify you about team chat DMs and @mentions, new replies from leads, missed calls or voicemails, follow-up reminders when a task you're assigned comes due, and — while a call is still ringing your line — an incoming-call heads-up naming the caller (on Telnyx numbers with voicemail or the AI agent on, and on Twilio; Quo's own app already rings your phone). Turn them on under Settings → Profile → Notifications on this device (on iPhone this only works in the installed app, not in a Safari tab) and choose which kinds you want. The heads-up can't make a backgrounded phone ring — answer in the app on your desktop, or on your cell if the line forwards there.
- Exports use the share sheet. CSV and Excel exports open your phone's share sheet so you can Save to Files, AirDrop, or email them.
- It updates itself. Every launch checks for a new version; if one shipped while the app was in the background you get a small Reload prompt instead of a surprise refresh.
- Dark mode carries into the status bar, so the app looks right in either theme.
- Refreshing. There is no browser reload button in the installed app. On iPhone, pull down from the top of any page and let go; on any device, use Settings → Help → Reload the app (or type reload into Cmd+K). You stay signed in either way, and a reload is refused while you are on a call.
Good to know
- Calls keep the screen on while you're connected, but a call ends if the phone locks or you switch apps for long — for a long dialing session, keep the app in front.
- The e-signature field editor needs a desktop or tablet — everything else in Documents works on a phone.
- No offline mode. The app needs a connection; if you lose it you get a Retry page instead of a broken screen, and nothing you did earlier is lost.
- Removing it works like any app: long-press the icon and delete. You can add it again any time, and you'll simply sign in again.
