Replies tell you who wrote back. Clicks tell you who's interested but hasn't written yet — the buyer who opened the listing three times, the seller who looked at your offer page. Link click tracking counts those clicks for your email and text campaigns.
Turn it on for a campaign
- Open the Email or Texting page and pick the campaign in the sequence editor.
- In the campaign's settings, tick Track link clicks. It saves with the rest of the settings.
- That's it. From the next message on, every link in that campaign's messages — the first message and every follow-up — goes out as a short tracking link like
directrei.com/r/a1B2c3D4e5. When someone clicks it, the click is counted and they land on the real page instantly.
It's off by default, campaign by campaign. Messages that already went out keep their original links — only messages sent after you turn it on are tracked.
[See the property](https://yourbiz.com/12-oak-ln). The reader sees See the property as a clickable link instead of a tracking address, and the email goes out with a formatted version alongside the plain text. Plain links work too — the reader just sees the short tracking address. In a text it shows as See the property: (link). What's tracked — and what isn't
- Tracked: links in campaign emails and texts (sequence messages and follow-ups) on campaigns with the switch on, and deal blasts sent with 🔗 Track link clicks ticked.
- Never tracked: emails and texts you type by hand, AI replies, and your unsubscribe link. Those always go out exactly as written.
- Email opens aren't tracked — only clicks. Open tracking relies on hidden images that hurt deliverability and are unreliable anyway (Apple Mail and Gmail load them on their own).
- Robots don't count. Company email security scanners and phone link previews open links on their own, often seconds after a message arrives. Those visits are recorded but kept out of your numbers, and the stats window tells you how many were left out and why. A few can still slip through.
Where you see the clicks
- The campaign — under Track link clicks in the sequence editor, and the Clicked 🔗 box in the campaign's Send progress on All Campaigns (click the campaign to open it). Click either for See who clicked: clicks by message, by link, and the list of people who clicked (click a name to open them).
- The contact card — a Link clicks section lists what they clicked, in which message, and when.
- The CRM — the Status filter has Clicked a link, so you can pull up everyone who clicked and call them first.
- Analytics — add the Link Clicks, Link Click Rate and Click Rate by Campaign widgets (Outreach section).
- Alerts — Settings → Notifications → 🔗 Link clicks pings your phone or pops up in the app when a lead clicks (off until you turn it on).
- Automations — the trigger A contact clicks a link in a campaign message can create a call task, add a tag, or post in Team Chat the moment someone clicks.
- Oliver — ask "who clicked the link in the Polk County texts?" and it reads the same numbers.
The click rate is of the people who were sent a tracked link, how many clicked one — each person counts once, however many times they clicked.
Use your own link domain (optional)
Links on your own domain look more trustworthy to readers and to spam filters than a shared one. Open Settings → Email → Link tracking domain and connect a subdomain, like links.yourbusiness.com:
- A domain you bought here (Get a sending domain) is one click — the card offers
links.yourdomain.comand adds the DNS record for you. - Any other domain needs one DNS record where that domain is managed: a
CNAMEfor the subdomain pointing tocname.vercel-dns.com. The card shows the exact record and a Check again button; it usually works within a few minutes to an hour. - Until your domain is active, links keep using
directrei.com. Use a subdomain, not your main domain, so your website and email stay where they are.
links.yourbusiness.com/r/… stops working once that domain is removed. Links on the shared directrei.com address keep working.
