Team page: time clock, announcements & your script library

6 min read · Updated 2026-10-29

“Team page: time clock, announcements & your script library” is a Direct University lesson from Direct REI, the AI cold-outreach platform and CRM for real estate investors. Run your people inside Direct REI: a time clock with timesheets, announcements with read receipts, a roster that includes people without a login, and one place for call scripts, objection answers and training.

The Team page (left menu, under Tasks) is where you run your people — the same place you run your outreach. It has nine tabs: Team (announcements, team goals, training and who's on the clock), People (your roster), Schedule (who works when), Meetings (set up meetings, or run a poll to find a time everyone's free), Time (the time clock, timesheets and pay), Time off (requests and balances), Documents (each person's documents, e-signatures and onboarding checklists), Performance (scorecards, reviews and 1:1 notes) and Library (call scripts, objection answers, training and team info). It's on the Pro and Scale plans.

Who sees what

Your roster (People tab)

Click + Add person to add anyone you manage — name, job title, start date, work email and phone, and whether they use the time clock. A person doesn't need a login, and people without one don't use a seat: you can track a field worker's hours by adding their time yourself. When someone should clock in on their own, open them and click Invite to log in — that sends a normal team invite (it uses a seat, see Add your team — seats & roles) and links the login to that roster person when they accept. Someone who leaves becomes Former (no longer on the team); their history stays.

The time clock

  1. Click Clock in on the Team page, on the card at the top of Home, or from the search box (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K → "Clock in").
  2. While you're working, the top bar shows how long you've been on the clock. Use Start break and End break for breaks — break time isn't counted.
  3. Click Clock out when you're done. Clocking out always works, even if the plan changes.

The time is always taken from our server when you click — nobody can type in a different clock-in time. If you forgot to clock in or out, open the Time tab and use Request a fix on the entry (or Request missing time). The owner or an admin approves or declines it, and you get notified.

Tip: The owner and admins can also Add time or change an entry directly. Every change needs a reason, and the person sees it on their timesheet.

Timesheets and settings

The Time tab shows hours by person and by day for this week, last week, this month or last month, in your team's time zone. Under ⚙ Settings (top right of the Team page, owner and admins) you set the team time zone, which day the week starts, how many hours on the clock before we send a "still clocked in" reminder, and whether to save a location when people clock in and out (off by default — when it's on, the browser asks each person for permission, and if they say no the time still saves without a location).

Announcements

  1. At the top right of the Team page, click 📢 Post announcement.
  2. Write the title and message (bold, lists and links work), and under Who should see it pick Everyone or Only some people.
  3. Optional: 📌 Pin to the top, ✅ Ask everyone to confirm they read it (they tap Got it), and 💬 Also post a link in #general in Team Chat.

Open an announcement to see who read it and who confirmed it. People with a login get it on their Team page and a notification if they turned those on.

The Library

Keep everything your team says and learns in one place: call scripts, objections with the answer to give, training (links or notes — mark training as required and each person can check it off) and team info. Search finds every word you type.

Notifications

In Settings → Notifications, the Team rows are Team announcements, Requests waiting for you, Answers to your requests and Still clocked in. Each one can be a phone/desktop notification, and announcements and requests can also come by email.

Ask Oliver

Oliver can clock you in or out, tell you who's on the clock and how many hours someone worked, add or fix time (owner or admin, with a reason), post an announcement and tell you who hasn't read it, and find or add library items — "what do we say when they ask how we got their number?". Oliver never shows hours inside a shared Team Chat channel.

Pay and time off live here too: the Time tab works out each pay period's pay from the time clock, and the Time off tab handles requests and balances. See Payroll prep: pay, overtime, bonuses & time off.
Documents and onboarding live here too: keep each person's W-9, ID, licenses and signed agreements, send an offer letter to sign, and give a new hire a checklist that ticks itself off. See Team documents & onboarding: paperwork, e-signatures & checklists.
Not here yet: performance reviews aren't part of the Team page yet.

What's next

Plan the week with Scheduling: build the week, open shifts & cover swaps, work out pay with Payroll prep: pay, overtime, bonuses & time off, handle paperwork with Team documents & onboarding: paperwork, e-signatures & checklists, see how each person is doing with Scorecards, reviews & 1:1s: see how each person is doing, set each person's numbers with Analytics, team numbers & KPI goals, and talk with your team in Team Chat: message your teammates inside DirectREI.
